Some of the WIPS I'm looking forward to working on in 2026:
- What if the TARDIS forced the Doctor to drop Rose off after she stole the heart of the TARDIS to become the Bad Wolf? And what if just after he regenerates Donna Nobel showed up in the TARDIS in her wedding dress? Due to the fact that he looks like death lukewarm fried she soon comes to the conclusion that he likely isn’t responsible for her been taken from the church and that he might be a fellow captive of whoever is responsible for them being wherever the hell they are.
- Jenny is able to regenerate after being shot in the Doctor’s Daughter. But she regenerates into a newborn baby. But there hasn’t been a Gallifreyan has been born as a newborn for billions of years. That and how she looks in her newest regeneration makes the Doctor think that the sample taken from his hand didn’t just contain his DNA. When Donna gets a look at baby Jenny she comes to the same realisation. She’s a mum. She and her best friend now have a new born baby together.
- When the Doctor and Donna are freeing some prisoners of the Trickster's Brigade’s and when they get to the lower level they come across the last prisoner the Doctor is disbelieving and horrified… It’s Rose Tyler. The Doctor realises she must have been taken when they returned Blon’s egg to Raxacoricofallapatorius. When he tries to tell Rose who he is, she doesn’t believe him, thinking this is some new type of trick from her captors. She manages to run to the safety of the TARDIS and believes that the real Doctor, the proper Doctor, not that skinny idiot had come to save her but had been captured. Rose is horrified when it seems the that the Doctor imposter has a TARDIS key, so she flees to her room and barricades herself inside. The Doctor struggles to regain her trust and has to enlist Captain Jack’s help. Just as they are starting to regain Rose’s trust the shape shifter who has been pretending to be her shows up and they have some big plans.
- What if instead of taking the Doctor, Rose and Mickey to Pete's word, the TARDIS takes them to a completely different parallel universe? In this alternate universe they each meet their counterparts who are living incredibly different lives. In that world their version of the Doctor is much more of a homebody and doesn’t do much travelling unless his TARDIS makes him. He’s happily married to Donna Nobel, they have two kids and she’s currently pregnant with twins. Pete Tyler never died in 1987, his first wife Jackie did. He’s currently estranged from his daughter Rose and his granddaughter Jackie. Rose Tyler hasn’t spoken to her dad since she was eighteen over seven years ago as she couldn’t deal with his refusal to actually try and connect with her rather than pile her off on a seemingly endless parade of step mothers. Mickey is a mechanic who never dated Rose.
- Since on Messaline the progenation machine only took a sample of the Doctor’s DNA wouldn’t have made much more sense if instead of a young blond woman, an exact duplicate of hm had popped out? As soon as he finds out that Martha’s a Doctor he tries to get her working on triage. Then several months later when Donna touches the hand in a jar out pops a young woman with blonde hair and green eyes who claim’s she looks a lot like her dad’s fifth incarnation. She also calls Donna her mum and the Doctor her dad.
- A DC crossover where Sarah Jane finds newborn baby Kal El after he crashes to earth, when she finds out with the help of Mr Smith that he’s a Kryptonian and his planet Krypton was destroyed recently (She’d been there with Three and liked it, thinking it was a beautiful planet). Because she’s heard about the hostile to extra terrestrials at Torchwood, she gets the help of her old friends the Brig and Tom Osgood to hide the fact that the baby is an alien she later befriends his older brother Tal-Rho who has escaped from Torchwood and several years later her old friend the Doctor’s Son, Alfred Pennyworth gets in touch with her to see if she can help him solve the murders of his bosses and friends Thomas and Martha Wayne. This was originally going to be one fic where Sarah Jane meets the Doctor in School Reunion and she has a son with a bit of a flash back to how she ended up as Superman’s mum but now this will be the first fic and then the original fic idea will be a sequel.
- This one isn’t Doctor X Donna (but does have eventual Donna X Duplicate). Jackie Tyler used to hang around UNIT when she was a teen because her uncle (on her dad’s side) Brigadier Alistair worked there. She knew the Doctor and considered the alien to be a friend. Over twenty years since last seeing him the Doctor is tracking the Auton arm and he recognises her. Jackie doesn’t know about regeneration so it takes her a while to believe this man is the Doctor. Based on their past Rose starts disliking the Doctor almost instantly and it’s Jackie who ends up travelling with her old friend and feelings slowly start to develop between them.
- It’s not Rose who loses her grip on the magnetic clamps and falls and gets rescued by Pete Tyler, it’s the Doctor. When he see’s how devastated the alien is and after Jackie explains the importance of the TARDIS to him, Pete offers to let him use the dimension jumps one last time “as surely that can’t be so bad, right?” Wrong. The Doctor explains in great detail exactly what could go wrong. He dismantles the dimension jumps and related tech and makes a device so that he and Jackie can say goodbye to Rose, and he can tell her to leave the TARDIS to die. Rose ignores him and finds Jack and convinces him to help her rescue the Doctor. Meanwhile the Doctor starts consulting for Torchwood and Nerys Pete’s PA befriends him and a few months later invites him to her hen night where he meets her best friend, world famous burlesque dancer Donna Nobel. Back on the Doctor’s earth River Song has teamed up with UNIT to stop Rose and Jack from using the TARDIS in their harebrained scheems.
This list has just a few the fics I’m hoping to work on this year, my WIP pile is absolutely huge and I’ve only included multi chapter fics and not any oneshots in this brief list. I’m also hoping to update some if not all of my posted Ao3 WIPs.
